Return Policy

All sales of live birds, chicks, and incubation eggs are final.

At Jishiani Guli we raise our breeding flocks with great care, and every egg and chick that leaves our farm has been hand-selected and inspected. However, because we deal exclusively in live animals and biological products, the outcome of an incubation cycle or the long-term health of a chick depends on factors entirely outside our control once the order is handed over. For this reason, all sales are final and no returns, exchanges, or refunds are offered.

All Sales Are Final

Once an order has been picked up or delivered, ownership and responsibility for the eggs, chicks, or adult birds transfers to the buyer. We do not accept returns of:

  • Incubation (hatching) eggs
  • Day-old or older chicks
  • Pullets, cockerels, hens, or roosters
  • Quail or any other live poultry

We also do not issue refunds based on hatch rate, sex ratio at maturity, growth speed, plumage variation, or any other characteristic that develops after the bird leaves our farm.

Why Hatch Rate Cannot Be Guaranteed

A hatching egg is a fragile, perishable, biological product. From the moment it leaves our farm, the success of the incubation cycle depends almost entirely on conditions we cannot oversee:

  • Transport and handling — vibration, temperature swings, or a single hard knock during the journey home can rupture the air cell or damage the embryo.
  • Storage before incubation — eggs need a stable cool temperature and proper turning before they go into the incubator.
  • Incubator calibration — temperature accuracy within fractions of a degree, humidity control, ventilation, and turning frequency all directly affect hatch rate.
  • Operator experience — even with a good incubator, technique and consistency matter enormously.

We select fresh eggs from healthy, actively breeding flocks and we test fertility on our own incubations. But we cannot guarantee a specific hatch percentage, and we do not refund or replace eggs that fail to hatch.

Why Chick Survival Cannot Be Guaranteed

Chicks are extremely sensitive in their first weeks of life. Once they leave our brooder, their survival depends on the conditions you provide:

  • Brooder temperature — chicks need a precisely warmed area (around 35°C in the first week, lowered gradually). Drafts and cold spots are fatal.
  • Clean water and starter feed — appropriate chick starter, constant access to fresh water, and clean feeders.
  • Bedding and ventilation — dry, non-slippery bedding and good airflow without drafts.
  • Biosecurity — separation from older birds, wild birds, and rodents to prevent disease.
  • Predator protection — secure enclosure against rats, cats, dogs, and birds of prey.

A chick that thrives in our brooder can fail in another setup, and the reverse is also true. Because we cannot inspect or control your conditions, we do not refund or replace chicks that do not survive after handover.

What We Do Guarantee

While we cannot guarantee outcomes after handover, we stand fully behind the condition of every order at the moment it leaves our farm:

  • Eggs are fresh, clean, and unwashed, collected from active breeding stock.
  • Eggs are candled where appropriate and visibly cracked, misshapen, or infertile-looking eggs are removed before packaging.
  • Chicks are alert, active, and visibly healthy when handed over — eyes clear, on their feet, eating and drinking.
  • Adult birds are true to breed as represented and free of obvious illness at the time of sale.

We are happy to discuss bloodlines, parentage, and breeding history before you commit to an order.

Inspection at Pickup or Delivery

We strongly encourage every buyer to inspect their order on the spot, before leaving the farm or before the courier drives away:

  • Check that the count is correct.
  • Visually check eggs for cracks and chicks for activity and condition.
  • Confirm the breed and any special markings.

If you spot a problem at the moment of handover — a miscount, a cracked egg that slipped through, a visibly sick chick — please raise it immediately so we can correct it on the spot. Concerns raised after the order has left the farm cannot be verified and will not result in refunds or replacements.

Order Changes and Cancellations

Pre-orders for chicks and eggs are scheduled around our incubation cycles and breeding pen rotations. If you need to change or cancel an order, please contact us as early as possible:

  • Cancellations made well before the eggs are set in the incubator can usually be accommodated.
  • Once eggs have been set or chicks have hatched specifically for your order, the order is firm and cannot be cancelled.
  • Any deposits paid are non-refundable once breeding work has begun on your behalf.

Questions?

If you have any questions about this policy before placing an order, please reach out — we would much rather answer questions in advance than disappoint a buyer afterwards.
